Key Outcomes

  • Comprehensive Knowledge Database: Created a searchable directory of global GBV initiatives, enabling policymakers, researchers, and practitioners to access and share best practices.

  • Actionable Recommendations:

    • Focus on supporting organisations in the Global South through funding and capacity-building.

    • Broaden the scope of GBV research to include emotional, psychological, and online abuse.

    • Push for consistent terminology in GBV-related discourse to improve data accuracy and policy development.

Kyniska Advocacy was engaged by the Global Observatory for Gender Equality in Sport to conduct a comprehensive mapping exercise to identify and evaluate initiatives, organisations, and resources addressing GBV in sport worldwide. Our task was to:

  • Document existing efforts and resources globally, including policies, training materials, and support services.

  • Evaluate their accessibility, effectiveness, and alignment with best practices.

  • Identify Gaps in existing resources and offer actionable recommendations.

  • Centralise Knowledge into an easy-to-use database to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing.
